Have been Away for quite Long time from Writing something.

Today this Album triggered something in me to write and share with all Music Lovers. The Name of The Film is Montu Ni Bittu. A Gujarati Film yet to release. Just Got this Link as Jukebox, a Video Link on Youtube. And to put it in a Word According to me Its Just AWESOME!! A complete Album.

To start off, the Music Director Mehul Surti has Given one of the Best Album one more time. His Knowledge of WorldMusic can be Figured out with This Album.

The First Song RangDariyo Sung by Aishwarya Majmudar is a Gujarati Romantic Song with So much of Love in it. So Tightly Produced with a Typical Mehul Surti Touch and He is Also Known as A.R.Rahman of Gujarat. So this is Mehul Surti Signature Style.

The Second one is Jai Maa Bhadrakali. It may Sound Like Bhajan but its not a typical one. More of a Garba Style this Song is Sung by a Very Famous Gujarati Singer and An Old friend of The Music Director, Parthiv Gohil. The Rhythm is Very Well Designed with a Pinch of Complexities, you would really enjoy this one if you are Garba Listener.

Now comes Something out of the Box. A Latin Gujarati Song. Yes Latin Music Fused With Gujarati Lyrics. Pakki Amdavadi might Remind you of SENORITA and by the End The High Paced rhythm gives you a Feel of Mehul Surti’s famous AA SURAT CHE. Very Genuinely Sung by Siddharth Bahvsar.

The Next one is also a New kind of Song for Gujarati Movie. The Feel is Bit Folkish, Rajasthani and For this Folk Feel the Music Director used the Best voice suitable. Singer is Aditya Gadhavi. The Song is Pradeshi Mena. A must listen for the Music Production specially.

With all these Happy Go Lucky Kind of Song Follows a Typical Gujarati Song with a Feel of Sadness. Like a Bidai Song. The Overall feel of the Song is like that and so well Executed by Nutan Surti. And Complementing her Vocal is Sehnai. Giving you the VIBE.

And Lastly the on a Happy Note, Dhvanit Thaker Sings the Medley Kind of Song explaining the Story in a Single Song using Different Signature Tunes very Famous in Gujarat. It Also Includes the RAP Style and Qawwali Genre. So very Well Produced and Composed by Mehul Surti.

Overall This Gujarati music Album is Must Listen and M sure You’d listen it not just twice but Would share with Friends and Family Members who are interested in Good Music.

Today its World Music Day, most of the artists are sharing videos of their performances and streaming live jamming videos. Cool enough. But the thing is how many of them are really good at what they do. Just yesterday, one of my friend from Navi Mumbai shared his biter experience with a singer while performing at at show. The SINGER was not that good and he blamed musicians. But how do a listener or audience know how good or Bad or Immature or Professional an artist is.
The only thing is to develop good habit of Listening good Music. As you develop Taste buds for new Cusinies similarly one should start developing good Taste for Music so you can know how good a performer or Artist is.
Thanks to Social Media and Youtube, we come across Numbers of Artists doing Covers. All they need is good Video maker and Audio Studio with AutoTuner. So AutoTuner, hides all their musical flaws by Putting their Vocal into Perfect pitch and Video shows how Glamorous they are. As many People say that Now a days Music is more a Video and Less Audio. More and More People are interested in Watching a Video of a new song rather enjoying it on iPod or Radio. Thats how society has become. Changed.
My Only Request to all people out there, Please listen to some GOOD MUSIC, develop good taste for music and than Support your Friend who is a non Musician but Pursuing it as a hobby.

Do you know about frequently heard word Frequency?

Well you must have come across ‘frequency’ word many times but what matters is how far do you understand that what does it means?

And its obvious to understand any kind of technicalities, we need too start off with basics.

When we talk about music, we can’t ignore the word frequency.

Now, Frequency is the amount of full cycles a sound wave (compressions and rarefactions of a medium) makes in a second. We measure this frequencies in Hertz (Hz). Frequencies are the amount of time a waveform cycles. The more cycles, the higher the tone/pitch of said waveform.

Pitch is the categorization of frequencies. Timbre is a quality, or color, of an instrument (or person’s voice) that is not related to pitch. The size, shape, and material can all affect the timbre.

One must know Music or Sound is mainly about three kind of frequency. Lows, Mids and Highs…

 Since these frequencies are used to produce music, lets understand each of them individually.

 A human ears can hear only those sounds which are between range of (roughly) 20Hz to 20,000Hz.

Humans hear through the ear-drum, a series of bones, and the cochlea, which is a snail-shell shaped organ that converts the mechanical movements into electrical impulses for your brain. The cochlea has liquid that excites hairs. Lower frequencies tend to take up a wider frequency range, because the sound waves excite more hairs. By taking up, I mean masking, which is when the perception of a sound is diminished by a louder sound. Higher frequency sounds tend to be more ‘precise.’



When we Say LOWs, it means Those instruments which produces Bass Sound.

For eg. Bass Drum, Bass Guitar, Lower Octave of Piano and Cello.

These are some of the Instruments which are used to Get a Bass Sound for any song.

Basically It gives a THUMP feel. Generally Dance Music has heavy Bass Line or Bass Drum Sound to make anyone Dance on the floor.



Secondly Mids are that range where actually most of the things fall into.

From Vocals to flute to Guitar Riffs..Its also known as Full Range of Presence because this where the Music is Present.



Lastly, High Frequency is what you can refer to as Sharpness. When you hear something like shaker or hi-hat sound that's hi-frequency. Tweaking around this Frequency it gives you sharp and edgy sound.

Recording aspects of Music world

One important aspect of music world is recording,  one should also know the process of Recording a song.
Process always takes a lot of patience aspects such as how much time it takes, what it takes to get a song ready to release, how easy it has become to be a Singer, Producer.
Only monetary aspect or only having a video channel and getting some paid views doesn’t make you a good artist. It takes hell lot of patience, training and thorough knowledge to be a good musician or singer.

Talking about the process, I would like you to know some of the jargons used for recording.
Few tools like MIDI, DAW, Microphones, Amps, Vst, Plugins, etc. I would like to talk about each of them in my next few blogs.

Passion is the Word which says it all. It gives you wings to achieve whatever you want.
Talking about the technicalities associated with Music, let's Start with talking about Recording Engineer.
He is the person with at most vision of how exactly song would sound, shapes the album /song.
He records, edits and Mix Sound with the help of Various Tools like Microphones, Levels, and Sound Manipulation techniques. Knowledge of analog tape recording to Digital Multitrack Recording software viz.Cubase / Nuendo & Logic Pro etc. is necessary. Recording engineer can also be termed as captain of ship because many times  Recording Engineer is also the Producer of a Project. Thus he should have combination of creativity  along with technicality. 1st step of journey is obviously by learning from Various Recording Institute or with a Local Studio as a Trainee to get a Basic Knowledge. This has dual benefits along with learning one can get in touch with Various Artists and Clients, the working pattern, workflow for any Project and Some basic Techniques of Recording.
‌Technology comforts are at our door steps one can record from home or any corner of world but without knowledge and training technology can't help you to achieve career goals. Online learning courses can help a bit.  One must remember knowing the scenario and identify requirements are crucial. Investors have invested in your studio with a purpose which can never be taken for granted.

Let's quickly have glance at how music can serve as career for singer.
Singer's career which seems to most eye pleasing career because now days `singer enjoys alot of lime light '.  But every job has own pains and pleasures, singers now a days constantly have to stay updated, learning  new instruments is part of their art, recording in studio, practicing daily, a total sum of constant efforts, results into lime light.

So to initiate, looking  at present life style scenario clubs are social gathering hype so for learning stage singer can perform for various clubs and cafes and small private parties. To be an ace in your field, you need to work which ultimately helps you to earn.
Moving towards Indian context, Indian Classical Music is a huge ocean, you needs to dive into it, to fetch pearls out.  Learning is interesting process because it serves you with over all development, better opportunities and good networking. Quantity doesn't matters, Quality matters, more than anything else ability matters.
A must needed knowledge  for singer is  different genres of music, basics of chords and jargons as SINGLES, EPs, LPs…
Another career option, which is highly neglected is Song writing. No it's not about lyricist, song writing is wider term than lyricist.
Along with various songs, they perform well, let people know about the Song. This helps Artists to be known for his/her own skills.

Nowadays the Trend is, let social media work for your identity that's like Record your Song, Upload it to Social Media. But then it's an incomplete task,  One should take opinions from different people as Teachers, Mentors, Colleagues who are already doing good in the industry. One who can show mirror reflection of your performance. This exercise is important yet completely missing.
If you want to succeed let criticism be leading stone to path of your improvement.  Hope for best but be prepared for worst. Stay updated keep changing your self for better performances is must.

Music as career

It's an observation, may be there are exceptions but music still hasn't got prominent place as source of earning. Career options list is always filled up with those academic kind of option,  which has good pay scale according to society,which can serve good lifestyle no matter if in urge to achieve that lifestyle u actually get so much involved in the league of earning that u can't even make out time to live your life.   Ultimately it would be a society of great brains which will leave voice of heart unheard.
Parents here play a key role, if they understand how arts can be an ace in shaping future and overall development  of kids. I guess it's an art  to understand importance of art hence many people have failed to make a note that now arts has turned to be vast field. Musician can earn as good as professional of any other field.
As mentioned earlier it's a vast field anyone can jump into this ocean and enjoy life to the fullest.
Let's have glance at the career options one gets in field of music
For an instance one can be Music Producer
A music producer is the one who writes, arranges, produces and records songs for different artists or for their projects.
An average earning of a producer in India is ranging from Rs. 10,000 to 25,000 approx. according to his talent and group of people he works with.
Another and the most popular option is SINGER. In India everybody wants to be a Singer or they want their Child to be one. The sole reason I think is, SINGER is the centre of attraction and seems like the Show Stopper so here lime light is playing major role.
This list of options is endless. I would like to focus on other options as well including Music Producer and Singer; in detail.
What type of preparation is needed to be a pro, How much patience is needed,
advancement on respective field,  and the most difficult but Important part :-
